I saw this recent post on Yahoo Answers and thought it was interesting. A dental patient who suffers from hyperacusia (abnormal acuteness of hearing) asked if he could have a crown tooth with a post removed without a drill.
The answer is maybe. There is a sticky cube you can bite on this extremely sticky cube. However, you need to make sure your dentist is very familiar with the procedure otherwise it could be a disaster. However, be aware that in some cases the cement is just too strong for this procedure to work. Another solution would be to get completely soundproof headphones. It would be a one time large expense, but may help solve many problems.
