Tulsa Affordable Dental Implants
Many denture wearers are absolutely miserable. Their dentures don’t fit properly, which makes it difficult to eat. Going out in public is unsettling because the dentures tend to slip and fall out at embarrassing times. Even dentures that start out working well, will eventually end up leaving the wearer in frustration. The reason for this is facial collapse. Once all your teeth are removed, your body efficiently begins to absorb the minerals that make up your lower jawbone in order to distribute them throughout the rest of your body. After about 10 to 15 years most of the jawbone is gone. Not only does that age your face considerably, but you can become a denture cripple. You will no longer be able to get your dentures to fit properly. Many patients stop wearing them all together. Dental Implants are the best way to avoid this problem, and are the ideal treatment for missing teeth. However, not everyone can afford the ideal. Drs. Cha understands this and want to find ways to provide some affordable options for their patients.
Affordable Implant Options
Mini Implants
On the left are two dental implants. The first thicker one is a traditional dental implant. The thinner one is a mini implant. The biggest cost saver for a mini implant is the surgery.
Because the diameter of a mini implant is so much smaller, the surgery is less complicated, cutting the costs almost in half. Mini implants will prevent bone loss, like the full sized counterparts, but they are not as strong. They will not be able to support things like a crown or bridgework.
Snap On Dentures
Another option for affordable dental implants is getting a snap on denture. Dr. Cha can do as few as two traditional implants and attach your denture to them with snap on devices.
Of course the more implants you have the better, but even just two implants will keep your dentures from falling out, so you will have some peace of mind.
A Caution When Looking for Affordable Dental Implants
When budget constraints are an issue, it is very tempting to look for the cheapest price on implants. Be cautious in that temptation. There are many things that can go wrong in a dental implant procedure. Unfortunately, if mistakes are made by an unqualified dentist you may not even know about them until several years later. The implants can become loose or even fall out. You can even develop an infection around the fixtures. Then, what you thought was the best deal will become very expensive to repair. Make sure you find an affordable implant dentist that is highly qualified. You can learn about Dr. Cha’s qualifications on our dental implants page.
