Reasons to See an Emergency Dentist
Infections
If you have a tooth or gum infection antibiotics alone won’t solve the problem. If the pain is coming from inside the tooth, it is often a sign that the pulp is infected. You may notice pain when pressure is put on the tooth, or a sensitivity to hot or cold. If the problem is the pulp of the tooth, you may need a root canal treatment. If that is the case, we will do a simple procedure today to get you out of pain and then go over your options for final treatment.
Traumatic Injuries
A blow to the face can cause a chipped tooth, or even the loss of a tooth. If the tooth is broken, we can repair it with dental bonding and get you back to normal. If you have the broken piece, you can bring it in and we’ll include it in the bonding. Dr. Cha is a highly skilled cosmetic dentist. Your bonding will look just like your natural tooth.
If your tooth has been knocked out, come in immediately. If possible place the tooth in a glass of milk or a moist paper towel. This will aid in keeping the ligament alive. If the tooth can be replanted within half an hour, we will likely be able to save your tooth.
Dealing with Dental Fear
Many patients have dental emergencies because they have an underlying fear of seeing a dentist and avoid necessary dental care. We want to assure you that if that is your case, we will not make you feel guilty in any way. We also can help ease the fear you face in seeing a dentist with our sedation dentistry services. You will be so relaxed, you may not even remember the procedure.
